I beg to forward herewith for the information of His Excellency the Governor a copy of a report and of its enclosure by D. J. C. Thomson, Visiting Surgeon of the Tung Wa Hospital, respecting the working of that institution during the second quarter of the current year.

I consider that Dr. Thomson's report shews a very marked improvement in the working and organisation of the hospital; and I observe with satisfaction that the confidence and general interest therein on the part of the Chinese have in no way been impaired by the supervision exercised by Dr. Thomson.

I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your Most Obedient Humble Servant,
William Robinson.
